Meet the team:

 

Dr Lebo Radebe

Senior Medical Officer 

Lebo is originally from Soweto and has been working at the Simon Nkoli clinic since July 2009. He has been the principal medical officer since the clinics inception and is currently involved in training health care workers on matters relating to gender, difference and sexual orientation.

 

Julia Arenze

Senior Nurse Practitioner

Julia has been a core member of the clinic since it opened and provides a full range of medical and nursing care to our clients. She has extensive experience working with the msm community and has recently completed training in arv initiation

 

Lucky Mafomekoane

Clinic Coordinator

Lucky has been with the clinic since it opened and has a key role in ensuring that the clinic operates efficiently and logically in order to serve its clients in the best way possible. He is responsible for all operational functions at the clinic including staff management, systems management, invoice processing and data capture. If there are any suggestions or complaints/compliments relating to the service you receive at the clinic then he is the man to talk to.

 

Nthato Ramushu

Enrolled Nurse

Nthato has been with the clinic since it opened in 2009. His main role is to prepare patients for their consultation with the doctor, nurse or counsellor. He conducts all the HIV and syphilis testing as well as basic blood pressure and urine checks. He has a key role in triaging all clients to ensure that their journey through the clinic is efficient and appropriate to their needs and expectations.

 

Daniel Mokhahlane

Lay Counsellor

Daniel is the latest addition to the team. His principal role is to provide pre-test and post-test counselling to clients attending for HIV testing. He gives out results and helps people manage their HIV status whether it is positive or negative. He also ensures that clients are taking their medication properly and that they understand the importance of safer sexual practices and general wellbeing

 

Themba L Mabaso

Lay Counsellor

Themba has been with the clinic since it opened in 2009. Like Daniel his principal role is to provide pre-test and post-test counselling to clients attending for HIV testing. He gives out results and helps people manage their HIV status whether it is positive or negative. He also ensures that clients are taking their medication properly and that they understand the importance of safer sexual practices and general wellbeing

 

Veli Sikela

Receptionist

Veli is the main receptionist at the clinic and primarily he is there to help. He greets all clients attending the clinic and ensures that you receive the most efficient and appropriate care while you are at the clinic. He registers new patients, collects files, files results and makes appointments.

 

Gift Kgasago

Peer educator

Gift works mainly in the community. He is part of the outreach team. His principle role is to engage with and recruit msm to attend the clinic for STI screening and HIV testing. He also provides counselling as part of outreach HCT campaigns

 

David Motswagae

Outreach Manager

David is outreach manager and was part of the Soweto MSM survey (Changes Faces) conducted in 2008 and was working as an interviewer and he grew an interest in learning more about the MSM community and has a passion for reaching out to them.
