For the most part, there are few risks associated with low frequency of ejaculation. Sperm is made in the testicles and is stored in a tubular structure known as the epididymis which has a large storage capacity. If too much sperm is present, the body often releases this in the form of a nocturnal emission, commonly known as a wet dream. On the other side of the coin, some scientists claim health benefits from frequent ejaculation, such as decreased risk of prostate cancer. At the end of the day, normal libido in men varies dramatically from one person to the other so some guys will masturbate and have a lot of sex (i.e. ejaculate frequently) while some do not and therefore do not ejaculate frequently. There are no evidence-based recommendations on what the “normal” frequently of ejaculation should be.
